Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a Porter to support our collision and glass repair teams. The role focuses on pre-delivery vehicle prep, maintaining cleanliness of the shop and office, and assisting with post-repair vehicle cleanup.

The position requires basic automotive exposure, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Candidates must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license; compensation includes hourly pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain daily housekeeping of the office interior: trash, floors, dusting, counters.
• Keep production area clean: dispose of waste, sweep floors, organize tools.
• Keep parking lots and grounds neat; shovel sidewalks when needed.
• Pre-wash customer vehicles before repairs begin.
• Clean interiors and exteriors of customer vehicles after repairs.
• Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs.

Job Description

The Porter complements quality repairs by cleaning customer vehicles prior to vehicle delivery. Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of shop and office facilities.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the office, including daily emptying of garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and dusting the countertops and work area.
• Maintain the daily housekeeping of the interior of the production area, emptying of waste cans, sweeping the floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and placing tools and equipment in their proper location.
• Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion, including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
• Pre-washes customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning.
• Exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
• Transport of customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs

Education and/or Experience Required

• High School diploma / GED preferred
• Ability to multitask
• Automotive experience preferred
• Clear close vision required
• 18 years or age or older
• Valid Driver’s license
• Strong attention to detail
