Job summary

Ken Garff Automotive Group seeks a Collision Repair Parts Assistant to support inbound/outbound parts operations. You will verify shipments, prepare and label containers, and assist with billing and inventory tasks in a fast-paced dealership environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 18+ years old, and authorization to work in the U.S. A customer-focused, precise, and team-oriented approach is essential.

Responsibilities

• Count, weigh, or measure items on shipments to verify against records.
• Determine shipment method using procedures, routes, and rates.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and crates.
• Insert items into containers with spacers and padding.
• Stamp or seal shipping information on crates or containers.
• Billing parts invoices.
• Unpack shipments, reject damaged items, and coordinate with shippers.
• Ensure outgoing shipments meet specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate lifting equipment or trolleys to move shipments.

What you’ll do as a Collision Repair Parts Assistant:

• Count, weigh, or measure items on incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
• Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons, or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
• Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
• Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Billing parts invoices.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
• Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment and designate “Returned Goods, Receiving Clerk”.
• Receive unsold products returned by Parts Driver.
• Other duties as assigned.

Looking for:

• Knowledge of basic vehicle systems and technical resources a plus
• Must be 18 years or older and be authorized to work in the U.S with a valid in-state driver's license and a good driving record, per company standards
