Job Summary

The Collision Painter Helper assists in preparing, painting, and finishing vehicles, ensuring quality and safety throughout the process while gaining hands-on experience in the body shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and use all body shop equipment properly and safely.
  • Remove rust, grease, and dirt from work surfaces.
  • Mask and protect parts not to be painted or coated.
  • Fill cavities and dents with putty for a smooth surface.
  • Mix paint and coating liquids according to specifications.
  • Prepare surfaces by buffing, polishing, and spraying primer.
  • Paint surfaces using sprayers or brushes, ensuring quality and desired color tone.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of automotive painting techniques, including mixing paints and applying coatings with sprayers or brushes.
  • Strong attention to detail for color matching, surface smoothness, and imperfection identification.
  • Ability to properly prep surfaces through buffing, polishing, and primer application.
  • Familiarity with different paint types, coatings, tools, and safety equipment.
  • Interest and enthusiasm for automotive painting, with a focus on long-term development in the trade.
  • Authorized to work in the USA.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, drug testing, and MVR.

Additional Information

Compensation: $17.00/hour

Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week, Sunday off
