Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Operates and uses all body shop equipment appropriately and safely
- Reviews production schedule with Manager daily.
- Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated
- Block sanding repaired panels and inspect prior to painting.
- Mixes refinish coatings according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color.
- Refinish surfaces using spray equipment.
- Maintains Paint Booth and equipment.
- Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
- Removes overspray, repair paint defects and buffing as required.
- Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
- Keeps the work area clean.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including a respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles
- Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- 2-5+ years of collision repair experience
- Ability to correctly complete all steps in the refinishing process
- Above-average quality focus
- High production capabilities
- I-CAR or ASE Certifications are a bonus
