Job summary

Synectics for Management Decisions Inc. in Reston, VA is seeking a Collibra Integration & Platform Engineer to develop, integrate, deploy, and maintain the software and infrastructure components supporting the Collibra Enterprise Data Catalog for a government client.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on platform engineering experience with Collibra DGC Architecture (EDGE).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support JDK-based microservices supporting Collibra integrations.
• Build and maintain REST API integrations between Collibra and agency data sources, applications, and services.
• Implement structured logging, monitoring, exception handling, and diagnostic capabilities.
• Develop unit, integration, regression, and deployment tests.
• Support Collibra Workflow Designer and Workflow Manager for Eclipse implementations requiring custom integration logic.
• Support Collibra Edge and Jobserver installations, connections, upgrades, and integration dependencies.
• Maintain supporting software components on Linux and Windows servers.
• Manage certificates, secrets, service accounts, credentials, and connection dependencies in coordination with agency security personnel.
• Diagnose API, network, credential, harvesting, lineage, and environment-specific issues.
• Maintain source code, branching, versioning, peer-review, and release-management practices.
• Track epics, stories, tasks, defects, dependencies, and acceptance criteria in agency-approved Agile platforms.
• Prepare deployment packages, test results, installation procedures, configuration records, and release notes.
• Support technical demonstrations, sprint reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and knowledge transfer.
• Serve as backup technical support for Edge, Jobserver, workflows, and metadata harvesting.
• Manage platform infrastructure (cloud-hosted or on-premise), handle upgrades, optimize cluster performance, and enforce security policies like SSO, OAuth, and RBAC.
• Configure and scale Collibra Edge sites and capability components to harvest metadata and data lineage.

Position Summary

We're looking for a Collibra Integration & Platform Engineer to develop, integrate, deploy, and maintain the software and infrastructure components supporting agency's Collibra Enterprise Data Catalog. Leads API integration, JDK-based microservices, server-component maintenance, automated testing, credential management, logging, troubleshooting, source control, and Agile work tracking for a government agency located in the Washington DC metro area. Work structure is hybrid and would be required to work in our office 2-3 days per week at our Reston, VA location. Position is contingent upon contract award.

• Build automated pipelines to ingest metadata from modern data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, GovCloud, and enterprise applications (ex: ServiceNow).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on platform engineering experience with Collibra DGC Architecture (EDGE).
• Demonstrated experience developing or supporting JDK-based microservices.
• Experience building and maintaining REST API integrations.
• Experience with logging, exception handling, coding, and integration testing.
• Experience maintaining software components on Linux servers.
• Experience maintaining software components on Windows servers.
• Experience managing certificates, secrets, service accounts, credentials, and associated integration dependencies.
• Experience using source-code management platforms.
• Experience tracking Agile work under epics, stories, and tasks.
• Experience supporting enterprise application integrations and multi-environment deployments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with federal government projects.
• Current Collibra Solution Architect or Collibra Ranger certification.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to pass a federal background investigation prior to starting work and maintain eligibility throughout the engagement.

Salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $170,000.00

Work Authorization: Government customer requires U.S. citizenship to work on the program. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
