Qualifications

  • Master's Degree, PsyD, or PhD with 1–3 years of post-internship direct experience with teens, young adults and families in academic and mental health settings.
  • Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of post-degree applicable experience in academics and mental health environments.
  • Graduate students in relevant programs are encouraged to apply for part-time roles to fit academic requirements.
  • Experience working with teens/young adults with learning differences, including autism/ADHD, and related mental health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Carry a mixed caseload of high school, college students, and young adults, providing one-to-one coaching and support.
  • Engage in update meetings with parents, provide consultation and education.
  • Strengthen clients' executive function, life management and emotional regulation skills for academic success.
  • Collaborate with clients, parents and supervisor to help each client reach goals.
  • 50% focused on academic management; ~20% on social, life management, and emotional support.
  • Meet clients on CU-Boulder campus or in offices; mostly in person with some virtual sessions.

Job description

Collegiate Coaching Services is a college success, executive functioning coaching, therapeutic coaching service for teens, young adults, and parents.

We are hiring for part-time (range of 15-25 hr. per week) College Success, Executive Function Coaches in Boulder, CO. To learn more about us: collegiatecoachingservices.com.

We are based in Boulder Colorado, where we provide in-person, hybrid, and virtual services to local teens and young adults, families, along the front range, and beyond. Coaches meet clients on CU-Boulder Campus and in our offices. This is not a work-from-home position.

This part-time position is paid hourly; coaching rate is $30-45/hour DOE. You will meet clients both in-person and when indicated, virtually. Additional compensation is provided for new coach training, administrative tasks, and commute time to and from campus to meet with clients.

Your typical work week includes 1:1 meeting with clients, parents either in our office, on campus or virtually; weekly individual supervision, team meetings, and administrative tasks.

**You must be eligible and able to engage in training prior to working with clients. Details about the training week will be shared with you should you be invited for an interview. We provide an excellent and thorough training program to all new team members.

The desired candidate
  • Experienced with and skillful in the areas of academics, organization, planning, preparing, and time management. Candidates understand basic mental health challenges such as performance anxiety, anxiety, depression and how these impact learning and motivation.
  • Desire a variable and flexible schedule, which may can include evening and occasional weekend hours.
Position Description
  • The college success, executive function coach will carry a mixed caseload of high school, college students and young adults, working one-on-one to provide coaching and support services.
  • Must have available 3 separate days per week to meet with clients, including half days. Preferably spread out over Monday-Friday.
  • You will engage in update meetings with parents, provide consultation and education.
  • You will teach and support clients to strengthen their ability to be successful in the academic setting; supporting executive function skills, life management skills, and basic emotional regulation skills, and help students navigate higher educational institutions.
  • The coach will collaborate with the client, parents, and their supervisor to help each client reach their goals.
  • This position focuses on academic management, performance, and achievement 80% of the time, and approximately 20% of the time, it focuses on social connection, life management support (e.g., bill payment, job support), and emotional regulation support.
  • We specialize in areas such as executive function development, successful independent living, family relationships, college success, and connecting in a healthy way with peers and support systems.
What To Expect

In addition to direct client meetings, the position requires time devoted to individual and group supervision, team meetings, client collaboration meetings, and administration time.

While some of our meetings with our clients occur through video-conferencing software, most of our work is done in person.

Position Requirements

Prefer advanced degree in education, counseling, psychology, sociology , performance psychology, family relationships, neuropsychology, or related field.

  • Master's Degree, PsyD, PhD: + a minimum of one to three years of related direct experience post-internship with teens, young adults, and families in academic and mental health environments.
  • Bachelor's degree: must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-degree applicable and direct experience with teens, young adults, and families in academic and mental health environments.
  • We encourage those in a relevant graduate program seeking experience while seeking to work part time to accommodate academic requirements, to apply.
  • Experience working with teens and young adults with learning differences is important. We desire candidates who have an interest and experience working with neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism spectrum and ADHD, and mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.
This role requires that you possess the following skills
  • Knowledge and experience with how to motivate clients to achieve their highest potential.
  • You are effective at building relationships, rapport while at the same time holding healthy boundaries.
  • You are knowledge about how to collaborate with professionals and parents and communicate effectively with team members associated with the client.
  • You are experienced with and knowledgeable about how to engage with parents, such as, updating parents on their child's progress and supporting them in developing new skills and strategies to enhance their child's development and success.

  • Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and professional boundary with each client.
  • Engage with colleagues and supervisors to discuss strategies to help support clients.
