Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) seeks a College Preparatory Program Counselor for our College Success Office in New York. The role supports Promise Academy students with college readiness, applications, and financial aid planning.

You will deliver workshops, build college partnerships, and maintain records to improve outcomes for first‑generation students from underserved urban communities.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in counseling, education, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in college counseling or related field, preferably in a high school setting.

• Provide individualized college counseling to scholars in grades 9-12.
• Plan and facilitate college readiness workshops and curriculum for families.
• Guide scholars through college applications, scholarships, and financial aid processes.
• Coordinate college exposure opportunities and campus visits.
• Partner with HCZ departments to support readiness programming and testing efforts.
• Build relationships with college admissions reps and scholarship providers.
• Maintain accurate student records and monitor progress for program improvement.
