Bureau of Indian Education is seeking a College Resident Assistant for Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, KS. You will support the daily operations of the Residential Hall Program and help enforce housing policies to ensure student safety and a positive living environment.

Applicants must meet OPM qualification standards for the GS-05 level. Four years of education beyond high school or a combination of education and experience may qualify you for this position.

This position is part of the Haskell Indian Nations University, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI). As a College Resident Assistant you will be responsible for providing assistance in the daily operations of the Residential Hall Program.

Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

GS-05 Grade Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least 1-year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level that includes:

• Enforcing rules or policies governing housing operations;
• monitor environment to ensure student safety and security;
• organize or promote recreational activities or events;
• communicate with other staff to resolve problems;
• and complete daily forms and logs.

-OR- Four (4) years of education above high school.

-OR- A combination of experience and education. You must have equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience that meets the total experience requirements. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
