Central Jersey College Prep Charter School in Somerset, New Jersey, is seeking a School Counselor to promote student success by developing a comprehensive counseling program and supporting students' academic, career, and social-emotional development.

The role collaborates with teachers, families, and community partners, manages data-driven services, and coordinates with I&RS, 504 plans, and behavioral supports to help students prepare for post-secondary paths.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in School Counseling is required.
• NJ School Counselor Standard Certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years in school counseling or related field.
• Preferred experience with I&RS, HIB, 504 planning, and behavioral support.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement an ASCA-aligned counseling plan.
• Provide individual and group counseling.
• Support students with academic, social-emotional, and career planning.
• Utilize and interpret student data (benchmark, tests).
• Collaborate with families and staff to build life, academic, and career skills.
• Develop prevention programs addressing behavioral and emotional needs.
• Coordinate referrals and follow up.
• Engage in I&RS, 504, behavioral support, and HIB processes.
• Conduct annual program reviews and share outcomes.
