Job summary

Providence College seeks a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to assess and treat students’ mental health needs within the Personal Counseling Center. Candidates should hold an active Rhode Island APRN license, PMHNP-BC, and CSR/DEA credentials, with 1–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing required.
• APRN license in Rhode Island required.
• Current PMHNP-BC certification required.
• RI CSR license/DEA registration required.
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience, preferably in a college counseling setting.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, assessment, and medication management for students.
• Collaborate with internal and external providers for comprehensive care.
• Coordinate lab testing and medical clearances with Health Services and Athletics.
• Assist in referrals for higher levels of care and ensure continuity of care.
• Document thoroughly in the EMR per policy and NCAA-related documentation.
