Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Part Time Temporary College of Education Curriculum Consultant. The Consultant will assist in program development focused on preparing future teachers for modern classrooms that effectively integrate technology and innovative teaching practices. Key responsibilities include collaborating with faculty and stakeholders to review and enhance the curriculum, focusing on the integration of technology and AI tools relevant to middle grades education. This involves providing insights on effective online teaching methodologies, developing guidelines for inclusive online environments, and advising on the incorporation of computer science concepts into the curriculum. Regular participation in virtual meetings is essential for discussing progress and sharing insights. Additionally, conducting comprehensive course reviews during the summer, offering feedback to instructors, and writing a report that outlines strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for improvement are crucial. The report should also address the scalability of the model for other College of Education programs, such as secondary and elementary education.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum Review and Development: Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to assess the current curriculum and identify areas for improvement. Design and recommend new course content and instructional strategies that incorporate technology and AI tools relevant to middle grades education.
• Best Practices in Online Teaching: Provide insights on effective online teaching methodologies and learner engagement strategies.
• Technology Integration: Advise on the integration of computer science and artificial intelligence concepts into the curriculum. Recommend tools and resources that enhance teaching and learning experiences in a digital format.
• Virtual Meetings: Participate in regular virtual meetings throughout the academic year to discuss progress, share insights, and collaborate with university faculty and staff.
• Course Review: Conduct a comprehensive review of redesigned courses during the summer, providing feedback and recommendations for further enhancements. Meet individually with the instructors who designed the courses to discuss the results of the review.
• Report: Write a report outlining strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for improvement for all courses and the program in general. Describe recommendations for future scalability of this model across other COE programs such as secondary and elementary education.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
