Job summary

RK&K in Baltimore is seeking a Summer 2027 college intern to join our Water Resources Division. The role offers on-the-job training, mentorship and exposure to design, field work and client management.

You will assist in stormwater design, erosion control, field investigations, hydraulic modeling, and the preparation of plans and cost estimates using MicroStation/CAD. Strong communication and teamwork are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree or related field.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of stormwater and storm drain systems.
• Assist in the design of erosion and sediment control practices.
• Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions and evaluate stormwater facilities and outfalls.
• Hydraulic modeling using TR55 and TR20 based models.
• Preparation of construction plans and cost estimates.
• Assist in the design of stream restoration projects.
• CAD in MicroStation Software.

RK&K is hiring a college intern for the Summer 2027 season to join the W ater Resources Division in our Baltimore office . Our interns will receive on-the-job training, mentorship and insight into various aspects of the consulting engineering industry from design to field work and client management. Individuals will be exposed to various challenges, projects and technology related to his or her specific discipline.

As a Paid Intern in our Water Resources Division you will

• Conduct field investigations to document existing conditions and evaluate stormwater facilities and outfalls.
• H ydraulic modeling using TR55 and TR20 based models

Required Skills and Experience

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related area
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Participation in professional societies or extracurricular activities
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or GIS
