Job summary

Northwestern Mutual College Financial Representatives internship provides guidance, network access, and a framework to build an integrated financial planning practice while studying. You’ll work with local and nationwide experts and Fortune 500 support, with opportunities for licensing and future career progression.

The program offers a flexible, onsite schedule, ongoing coaching, and pathways to full-time roles after graduation, including Series 6/63 licensing and CFP® options as you progress.

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, campus orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prospect and network to build your business and client base.
• Develop and execute on a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Receive Risk Product State Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
