Job summary

Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia invites a Sales Analytics & Reporting Co-op to join our team. You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise data, dashboards, forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will assist with Excel and Power BI dashboards, participate in data validation, and analyze variances in membership and sales data. Documentation of reporting processes will help improve efficiency and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior standing; recent graduate within one year of program start date.
• GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Must have an Android or iOS device compatible with the free Microsoft Authenticator app.

Job description

The Sales Analytics & Reporting team is responsible for enterprise membership reporting, forecasting, and analytics across Independence Blue Cross and its family of companies. The team serves as the primary source for membership reporting and provides analytical support to Sales, Finance, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Executive Leadership.

Co-op Position Overview:

The Sales Analytics & Reporting Co-op will support the team in delivering accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting and analysis. This role offers hands-on experience working with enterprise data, reporting tools, forecasting processes, and cross-functional business partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of dashboards, presentations, and reports using Excel, Power BI, and other reporting tools.
• Support data validation and quality assurance activities by reviewing information from multiple sources, including Informatics, Finance, and Actuarial.
• Research and analyze variances in membership, sales, and forecasting data.
• Assist with membership reporting and forecasting processes through data collection, organization, and analysis.
• Document reporting processes, business rules, data definitions, and reporting procedures to enhance knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
• Perform additional projects and assignments as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis techniques.
• Exposure to SQL through coursework, academic projects, or internships; ability to understand, modify, and execute existing queries is preferred.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools through coursework, academic projects, or internships is preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and business processes.
