The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
DYCD's Workforce Connect team manages a portfolio of programs that provide opportunities for young people and community members through job training, work experience, career exploration, and educational opportunities. DYCD works in close collaboration with a network of community-based organizations, employers, and city partners to design and implement programs. DYCD seeks a creative, dynamic, and motivated undergraduate or graduate student to serve as the Employer Engagement and Partnerships College Aide, reporting to the Director of Employer Engagement and Partnerships.
The Employer Engagement and Partnerships unit connects companies and organizations across New York City to partnership opportunities with DYCD's workforce development programs, providing avenues to host interns, hire permanent employees, or provide career exploration and skill building for our city's future workforce. Job Description The College Aide will be an integral part of the team, helping to manage employer partnerships, plan events, and create materials, graphics, and videos to encourage more employers to partner with workforce development programs. The ideal candidate has strong communication, writing, analytical, and project management skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.

Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
SPECIAL NOTE
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
