Job description

With an overarching mission to eliminate ageism and ensure the dignity and quality of life of approximately 1.8 million older New Yorkers, the NYC Department for the Aging is deeply committed to helping older adults age in their homes and creating a community-care approach that reflects a model age-inclusive city.

The Office of Change Management designs strategies and co-sponsors projects to empower individuals to re-envision their duties and adopt new work experiences. Through the successful implementation of enterprise-wide projects, OCM builds individual adaptability and increases the Agency's agility.

Role Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduling activities.
  • Coordinate with training event environment setup and follow-up.
  • Update video and printed training materials.
  • Assist with virtual trainings and attendee technical support.
  • Monitor break-out rooms and gather user feedback for FAQs and training improvements.
Minimum Qualifications

For Assignment Level I: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school, with employment conditioned upon continued student status.

For Assignment Level II (IT): Same as Level I, with a focus on courses in information technology, computer science, or related fields, including 9 semester credits.

For Assignment Level III (IT Fellow): Same as Level II, with appointments made through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

Additional Notes

Maximum tenure is 6 years. Students may work full-time during vacations but not more than half-time during academic sessions.

Preferred Skills
  • Digital literacy, including internet use and secure environments like Google Classroom.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based products: MS Office, Windows/Mobile Apps.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively.
Additional Benefits and Requirements

Eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs; NYC residency generally required within 90 days; diverse and inclusive work environment.

Salary range: $17.00 – $21.40 per hour.
