Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in professional school counseling or related field.
• Minimum of three years of successful professional school counseling, high school-based or related experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of artificial intelligence tools and emerging technologies, with the ability to leverage digital platforms to enhance advising practices.
• Background in academic, high school, or college advising.
• Experience with designing and facilitating advisory lessons; and organizing college tours.
• Successful experience serving young people from resilient communities.
• Understanding of current trends and best practices in education and leadership.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with developing personal, academic, and career goals.
• Guide members with academic planning and course selection, summers, and enrichment programs.
• Build strong relationships with the assigned caseload of members and families.
• Assist with the application process for summer pathway programs.
• Facilitate one-to-one and small-group advisory lessons.
• Design and facilitate college awareness and planning modules for members and parents.
• Organize and facilitate local and national college tours.
• Coordinate and facilitate college representative visits.
• Monitor student progress and maintain records; develop intervention plans.
• Limited travel to regional programs.
