Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach is seeking a Collector – Physician Billing to manage physician accounts receivable by resolving denied, pending, and unpaid claims. Responsibilities

• Learn EPIC Physician Billing system to complete work assignments accurately and efficiently.
• Prioritize tasks to maximize productivity and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
• Work claims queues to resolve denials and submit appeals when needed.
• Track submitted appeals and outcomes for both first- and second-level appeals.
• Document all collection activity clearly for each patient account, including issues and actions.
• Access claim information and eligibility via payer portals and telephone contacts to process pending claims.
• Review medical records to determine medical necessity and submit records with appeal rationale.
• Participate in education programs and team discussions to improve processes and performance.

(Both 1st and 2nd level appeals), and conducting follow up on deferred claims for resolution.Clear and concise documentation of all collection activity on each patient accounts. Must include claim issue and activity performed in order to resolve.Able to access and obtain claim information and eligibility using insurance payor web portals (including SPOT), in addition to contacting the insurance payers via telephone in order to process pending claims.Conducts review of medical records to identify medical necessity of physician services and submits copies of medical records with the reason for reconsideration for all claim appeals.Attends all educational programs as assigned by manager.
