Job summary

State Credit Union is seeking a Collections Supervisor to lead a team of Loan Adjusters and provide coaching, performance feedback, and resource support to meet departmental goals.

You will manage complex delinquencies, collaborate with leadership, and ensure compliant, efficient operations while protecting members’ financial well-being. Some travel within the state may be required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree may be considered in place of related work experience.
  • Experience in collections, loan servicing, or related financial services environment is ideal.

  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing a team of Loan Adjusters through ongoing coaching and performance management.
  • Monitor team productivity and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex member accounts and advise on repayment options, repossessions, foreclosures, legal action, and charge-offs.

Job description

As the Collections Supervisor you'll lead and support a team of Loan Adjusters, creating an environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. You'll provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and performance feedback while ensuring your team has the resources, knowledge, and guidance needed to deliver exceptional service and achieve departmental goals.

In addition to leading the team, you'll serve as a subject matter expert by managing complex and escalated delinquent accounts, helping members and identifying solutions that protect their financial well-being while minimizing risk to the credit union. You'll work closely with department leadership, branch staff, and internal business partners to ensure consistent practices, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing a team of Loan Adjusters through ongoing coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Monitoring team productivity, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering a positive, high-performing work environment.
  • Serving as the escalation point for complex member accounts and making recommendations regarding repayment options, repossessions, foreclosures, legal action, and charge-offs.
  • Collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to improve processes, support departmental initiatives, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Preparing reports, attending legal proceedings when necessary, and ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys developing others, solving complex challenges, and making a meaningful impact on both team success and member outcomes.

Collections Supervisors are required to work 10-7 once a week with their team.

Qualifications

We're looking for a candidate with a high school diploma, or equivalent, and experience in collections, loan servicing, or a related financial services environment. Previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred, and a bachelor's degree may be considered in place of related work experience.

The ideal candidate is an effective leader with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills who is comfortable coaching employees, managing competing priorities, and making sound decisions in challenging situations. As well as a commitment to regulatory compliance and exceptional member service.

A valid driver's license is required, as this position may require occasional travel throughout the state, sometimes with short notice.
