About the Role
Cherry is seeking an experienced Collections Specialist who provides great customer experience and holds a strong regard for delivering results. The position will be carefully chosen to bring in a person who is passionate about being a part of a small but hard-working team in the beginning, with a strong focus on building and improving our team and company as a whole.
Responsibilities
Work with customers to satisfy inquiries and collect delinquent balances
Review, monitor, engage, and keep track of a high volume of customers per day
Handle both inbound and outbound service level calls in order to assist with applicants, borrowers, and merchants
Review delinquent accounts and execute the most optimal contact strategy for each account to maintain losses below established goals for the position
Respond to credit disputes as well as chargeback disputes in a timely and efficient manner
Accurately document all interactions and account level issues with borrowers
Provide problem-solving resolutions to borrowers and recommend action based on conversation and account assessment
Work directly with management for improvements from borrower-level all the way to systems- and processing-level
Skiptrace accounts that have been determined to not have viable contact information
Work in a startup environment with the goal to strive for improvement with both the quality and method of the interaction with borrowers
Be an integral part in the growth of a small company with interactions across all departments
Evening and/or weekend hours may be required
De-escalate scenarios and present resolutions for tough to navigate situations
Provide accurate information to applicants, members, and merchants
Qualifications
1+ years of experience in collections
Experience with point of sale lending and chargeback dispute resolution desired, but not required. Extensive customer service or sales experience may also be accepted.
Proven ability to negotiate repayment plans for varying levels of delinquency and balances
Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks, organize, and pay strict attention to detail
Acute knowledge of collections regulations preferred
Strong work ethic and pride in performance
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a team first mentality
College Degree desired. High school diploma or GED required.
Intermediate-level skills in working with Excel/Google Sheets also preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
Flexibility with schedule is preferred
Compensation Package
$75k base pay
$25k uncapped, on-target commission
Monthly commission payouts

Schedule
This role will work Monday-Friday during business hours, with one weekend per month
