Job summary

Northwest Plus Credit Union is seeking a Collections Specialist to support members with consumer and mortgage loans, delivering excellent service and timely collection actions.   • Take outbound and receive inbound calls and emails from members regarding their accounts.
  • Establish good rapport and professional relationship with members through proactive and prompt communication.
  • Responsible for exceptional member service both internal and external that is in alignment with our policies and procedures.
  • Represent the credit union in a courteous, honest and professional manner and maintain confidentiality with all member and critical data.

POSITION TITLE: CollectionsSpecialist

REPORTS TO: Supervisor - Loan Servicing

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Full Time

SALARY: $24.00 to $28.00

Bilingual preferred English/Spanish

SUMMARY:

In this position, you will work with NW Plus CU members on their existing consumer and mortgage loans providing excellent member service. Success in this position demonstrated by working cohesively within loan servicing team, effectively managing collection efforts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and the timely completion of all task while following the credit union policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process reminder, late notices, delinquency reports and collections calls as required on accounts.
  • Actively work delinquent loan and overdrawn account list.
  • Take outbound and receive inbound calls and emails from members regarding their accounts.
  • Establish good rapport and professional relationship with members through pro-active and prompt communication.
  • Responsible for exceptional member service both internal and external that is in alignment with our policies and procedures.
  • Represent the credit union in a courteous, honest and professional manner and maintain confidentiality with all member and critical data.
  • Familiarize with and adhere to Loan Servicing policies, procedures and regulations.
  • As a staff member of NW Plus CU you are expected to adhere to policies, procedures and reporting requirements. In addition, all assigned training will be completed in a timely manner as set forth by the BSA Officer in accordance to Board approved BSA, CIP and OFAC Programs.
  • Ability to: work independently, multi task, set priorities, demonstration proficient attention to details, meet deadlines and be well organized.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other Database software.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,

skill, and/or ability required.

  • Familiarity with the credit union systems, preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer service, verbal and written communication.
  • Previous collection experience with at least two-year background.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
