Job summary

TruStone Financial Credit Union is seeking a dedicated Collections Specialist to resolve delinquent member accounts at our Burnsville, MN office. You will contact members by phone, letter, or in person to understand delinquencies and determine suitable repayment plans.

Responsibilities include developing mutually agreeable plans to bring loans or accounts current and minimize losses while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of consumer collection experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal consumer collection policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
• Lending document knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to generate professional correspondence.
• Ability to work independently with good decision-making.
• Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act.
• Ability to pass background checks.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

This role is responsible for the resolution of potential or delinquent member accounts. Conduct an effective follow-up program involving loans and Visa accounts in which members are contacted by phone, letter or in person appointment to ascertain reasons for delinquencies. Develop and implement a mutually agreeable plan to bring member loans and/or accounts current or to minimize a loss for the company.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Availability to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am - 5:30pm and at our Kenosha Green Bay Road office location; non-exempt.

In addition:

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• 2+ years of previous consumer collection experience, preferred.


• Working knowledge of credit union, various state and federal consumer collection policies, procedures, laws and regulations, preferred. This includes, but is not limited to; bankruptcy laws, student loan guidelines, real estate collection laws, Visa account collection laws, property improvement collection guidelines, and NSF check collection knowledge.


• Lending document knowledge.


• PC experience including a general working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and E-mail equivalents.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to generate professional correspondence through mail.


• Ability to define problems and apply appropriate remedies.


• Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions, as well as, deal with abstract and concrete variables.


• Ability to work independently while displaying initiative and good decision-making skills.


• A high level of professionalism while working under pressure.


• Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all its provisions.


• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and various background checks.


• Regular and reliable attendance at the workplace.

The salary range for this position is $19.40 to $24.00 per hour. In addition, we offer:
