Job summary

The Ford Agency in Tysons, VA seeks an experienced collections Paralegal to support a busy boutique firm. The role requires handling VA and DC court matters and post-judgment enforcement while maintaining a strong work ethic and work-life balance.

This temporary position offers immediate start and has potential for permanent hire. Candidates should be based in DC/MD/VA or willing to relocate, and bring 2+ years in a collections setting.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of FDCPA, VA and DC debt collection laws and US Bankruptcy Code (Chapters 7,11,13).
• BA or BS degree, Paralegal certificate preferred.
• 2+ years experience in a law firm or corporate legal department in collections.

Responsibilities

• Draft demand letters, complaints, summons, affidavits of debt, discover requests, motions, etc.
• Monitor deadlines and dockets with VA, DC, and bankruptcy courts.
• Directly communicate with clients, debtors, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Take ownership of the organization and coordination of collections matters for the practice group

The Ford Agency is actively seeking an experienced collections Paralegal to join a busy and successful boutique firm in Tysons, VA. The successful candidate will have solid experience with the VA and DC court systems and have strong familiarity with post-judgement enforcement mechanisms. • $32/hr+

Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
