Job summary

Harvard University’s HGSE Gutman Library seeks a collaborative Librarian to lead collection development, management, and access. The role focuses on aligning resources with curricular needs and faculty scholarship, while coordinating with Harvard Library units.

Minimum MLS and 3+ years' related experience are required, with opportunities for flexible or hybrid work and a strong emphasis on user-centered service and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of three years related experience post-MLS.
• Resume and cover letter required for consideration.
• Final-round interviews may include campus visits and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop collection strategies to support curricular needs and research initiatives.
• Manage expenditures and collaborate with Gutman Library leadership on reporting and workflows.
• Coordinate purchasing workflows and fund management for education liaison librarians.
• Collaborate with Special Collections on gifts, transfers, and digitization planning.
• Lead CMA team priorities and align with central Harvard Library units.
• Set policies for course materials purchasing and fulfillment, and build relations with HGSE units.
