Ellucian is seeking a Colleague Finance Functional Consultant to partner with colleges and universities, helping them optimize their financial systems and maximize the value of Ellucian solutions. In this customer-facing role, you will translate business needs into functional specifications, support implementations, and assist with testing and training to ensure smooth adoption of Colleague Finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in higher education Finance Office, financial systems environment, or higher education functional consulting role.
• Hands-on experience with Ellucian Colleague Finance and understanding of its functionality.
• Knowledge of core higher education financial operations (GL, AP, purchasing, budgeting, financial reporting).
• Familiarity with higher education business processes and how financial systems support operations.
• Experience troubleshooting functional system issues, evaluating processes, and proposing practical solutions.
• Ability to gather requirements and translate them into functional improvements.
• Experience supporting system testing, upgrades, or configuration changes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with customers and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Provide functional consulting and support to higher education customers using Ellucian Colleague Finance, maximizing system functionality and efficiency.
• Partner with customers to understand business needs, evaluate processes, and recommend improvements for efficiency.
• Assist customers with implementing new functionality, configuring solutions, and optimizing existing Colleague Finance processes.
• Troubleshoot functional issues, collaborating with customers and internal teams to implement solutions.
• Support business process reviews, requirements gathering, and prototyping sessions to identify improvements.
• Translate customer requirements into functional specifications for reporting, interfaces, and customizations.
• Develop and execute test plans for upgrades, patches, and configurations.
• Collaborate with customers to validate updates meet business requirements.
• Create clear documentation on processes, requirements, testing, and user guidance.
• Support training by creating materials and delivering knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Work with other consultants and teams to complete projects on time and scope.
• Build strong customer relationships through responsive support and practical recommendations.
• Assist customers adopting new SaaS-based capabilities and modernized operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

In this customer-facing role, you'll leverage your knowledge of Colleague Finance and higher education financial operations to help institutions solve business challenges, implement new functionality, and improve how they manage their financial processes. You'll work closely with customers to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and support their ongoing technology transformation.

Where You Will Make an Impact

• Provide functional consulting and support to higher education customers using Ellucian's Colleague Finance solution, helping institutions maximize system functionality and operational efficiency.
• Partner with customers to understand their business needs, evaluate existing financial processes, and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and system utilization.
• Assist customers with implementing new functionality, configuring solutions, and optimizing existing Colleague Finance processes.
• Troubleshoot functional issues within Colleague Finance, collaborating with customers and internal teams to identify and implement solutions.
• Support business process reviews, requirements gathering, and application prototyping sessions to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Translate customer business requirements into functional specifications for reporting, interfaces, system enhancements, and customizations.
• Assist in developing and executing test plans and scripts for system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and configuration changes.
• Collaborate with customers to validate that system updates and modifications meet their business requirements.
• Develop clear documentation, including business processes, functional requirements, testing procedures, and user guidance.
• Support customer training initiatives by developing training materials and delivering functional knowledge-sharing sessions when appropriate.
• Partner with other consultants and internal teams to complete assigned projects within established timelines and scope.
• Build strong customer relationships by providing responsive support, practical recommendations, and a positive consulting experience.

What You Will Bring

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working in a higher education Finance Office, financial systems environment, or higher education functional consulting role.
• Hands‑on experience working with Ellucian Colleague Finance, including an understanding of its functionality and common business processes.
• Working knowledge of higher education financial operations, such as general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting, financial reporting, or related business office functions.
• Familiarity with higher education business processes and how financial systems support institutional operations.
• Experience troubleshooting functional system issues, evaluating business processes, and recommending practical solutions.
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into functional recommendations or system improvements.
• Experience supporting system testing, upgrades, enhancements, or configuration changes.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with customers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and projects, prioritize competing needs, and meet established deadlines.
• A customer‑focused mindset with an interest in learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Preferred experience with Colleague Student Finance (Student Accounts Receivable) and an understanding of its integration or touchpoints with Colleague Finance, supporting Colleague Finance implementations, enhancements, or optimization projects, experience participating in business process improvement initiatives within a college or university, exposure to SaaS environments, cloud‑based solutions, or higher education technology modernization initiatives, previous experience providing functional consulting, customer support, or training to higher education institutions.
