Job summary

RRD is seeking a Collator Operator for the 1st shift in Osage, IA. Starting rate is $22.44 per hour, with schedule Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Occasional overtime including weekends may be required. The role involves setting up and operating collating/labeling machines to meet customer specifications. Responsibilities include reviewing work orders, operating related equipment, and performing safety inspections while tracking production.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containing collating requirements which indicate the number and sequence of webs required to complete the work and maintain dimensional accuracy
  • Knowledge of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoated paper stock
  • Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and refining adjustments for weight, color, machinability, and quality of paper stock to prevent machining impressions on printed materials
  • Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines
  • Skill in using the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust and maintain the functional accuracy and operating conditions of the collating machines
  • General knowledge of collating/label application machines to perform folds, gluing, perforating, and cutting of printed materials
  • Thorough knowledge of setup, operating requirements, procedures, capabilities, and limitations of the collating machine to perform folding, collating, and cutting of printed materials to complete a combined finishing product

  • Review specifications and set up equipment that performs forms collating from web rolls, label affixing, or window patching to printed or in‑process materials specific to customer requirements
  • Operate equipment that may perform functions related to assembling and perforating signatures, stapling, gluing, folding, or cutting sheets of paper, forms, or signatures in a specified sequence to form completed sets or die cut and apply labels or films to paper substrates
  • Perform safety inspections, document problems, and track production during operation

Collator Operator - 1st Shift

Schedule

Starting rate of $22.44 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; occasional overtime may be required, including weekends

Benefits and Additional Information

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $22.44 – $31.61 per hour. Actual rate may vary based on education, skills, experience, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include a sign‑on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call‑in and stand‑by pay.
