Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a skilled Collateral Management/Ops professional in the New York area. You will manage daily margin calls for bilateral derivatives and ensure regulatory compliance across Dodd-Frank and EMIR frameworks.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in banking operations, strong Excel, and a collaborative mindset. Hybrid work is available; salary ranges from $78k to $125k with potential discretionary incentives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or finance-related field.
  • Experience in Banking & Financial Services, preferably in Collateral/ Liquidity management or Derivatives operations.
  • Understanding of derivative trade structure, trade flow and valuations.
  • Knowledge of CFTC/EMIR rules and ISDA agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage issuance and booking of daily margin calls for bilateral derivatives.
  • Facilitate margin call disputes, reconciliations, and resolution.
  • Reconcile non-cleared derivatives to regulatory requirements (Dodd-Frank/EMIR).
  • Review daily MTM/SIMM portfolio differences and escalate as needed.
  • Support ad-hoc investigations and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in monitoring gaps and recommend tech changes.
  • Participate in industry initiatives and operational efficiency projects.
