Job summary

Northern Trust Corp in the United States is seeking a Collateral Management professional to oversee the daily margin process across OTC, Repo and Futures for Middle Office clients. The role requires strong communication with clients and internal teams.

You will review collateral terms, determine eligible securities, and supervise cash and securities settlements while coordinating with IT for reporting improvements and workflow efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of work experience with direct experience in Collateral Management.
• Experience in project management and client interaction.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Familiarity with Hedge Fund structures, products and financial instruments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (Required).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily margin process across OTC (bilateral and centrally cleared), Repo and Futures for Middle Office clients.
• Respond quickly and accurately to requests in a high volume, time sensitive trading environment; investigate exceptions and escalate disputes.
• Lead key client implementations to onboard Collateral clients in accordance with our SLA; manage client engagement and highlight controls and dependencies.
• Review and setup client collateral terms based upon ISDA, GMRA or similar documents.
• Determine eligible securities for collateral demands; administer delivery and exchange per eligibility rules.
• Process cash and securities transactions and track settlement or post-settlement handling.
• Direct month-end collateral interest process from reconciliation to settlement.
• Utilize TriResolve to develop, provide and publish collateral reports to clients.
• Oversee margin reconciliations and resolution of breaks through TriResolve; coordinate with clients and internal partners.
• Collaborate with IT to test and implement collateral management developments; ensure connectivity with counterparties.
• Accurately define business requirements for IT projects and enhancements for the cash and collateral management team.
