Job summary

Westminster University in Salt Lake City seeks a skilled Accompanist to provide piano accompaniment for weekly vocal lessons, lessons and juries, and opera theatre rehearsals, collaborating with the Staff Accompanist to support the school’s artistic programs.

The ideal candidate will have technical and musical mastery of the piano, knowledge of relevant literature, and the ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends. A Master of Music in piano performance or collaborative piano is preferred.

• Technical and musical mastery of the piano.
• Knowledge of the vocal and instrumental literature that requires piano accompaniment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse body of musicians.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide piano accompaniment for weekly private vocal lessons
• Accompany for lessons and end-of semester juries.
• Provide piano accompaniment for opera theatre staging rehearsals
• SummerSong pianist
• May substitute for other collaborative pianists when needed
• May serve as collaborative pianist for other performances when needed
