Job summary

Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL seeks a collaborative pianist to accompany Bachelor and Master level students in recitals, juries, convocations, seminars, lessons, and rehearsals, and to support vocal ensembles and orchestras as needed.

The appointment is a 9-month assignment with a salary range of $35,568 to $38,765 per year. Benefits through the State of Illinois CMS program are available, and eligibility includes participation in SURS with standard offerings for university employees.

Qualifications

• Successful experience as a collaborative pianist with a substantial repertoire.
• Excellent sight reading and the ability to quickly learn new repertoire is expected.
• Masters or Doctorate in Accompanying or Piano preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accompany vocal and instrumental students in recitals, juries, convocations, seminars, lessons, and rehearsals.
• Accompany vocal ensembles and/or serve as pianist for the Wind Ensemble or Symphony Orchestra.
• Other duties as assigned.
