Job Summary

The WellBe care model is a Physician Led Advanced Practice Clinician-driven geriatric care team focused on the care of older adults, particularly frail, poly-chronic elderly Medicare Advantage patients. This underserved population faces access challenges, which WellBe addresses by bringing care directly to the patient across the continuum—from chronic and urgent care at home to hospital, skilled nursing, assisted living, palliative, and end-of-life care. The team partners with primary care physicians to provide concierge-level medical and social support in the home, coordinating care across all settings.

Job Description

WellBe Senior Medical employs licensed Advanced Nurse Practitioners and other Advanced Practice Clinicians to deliver advanced practitioner services, including prescriptive authority, to patients. We seek an Associate Medical Director to supervise and collaborate with these clinicians in accordance with state law. The Associate Medical Director will agree to the terms of this agreement and provide supervision services accordingly.

Skills & Competencies

  • Supervise and collaborate with APC staff (up to the maximum allowed per state)
  • Meet quarterly in person with APCs to review charts, discuss improvements, and patient care issues
  • Be available for urgent consultations related to patient care, coordinating coverage during absences
  • Order necessary medications in collaboration with APCs, adhering to legal requirements
  • Review 10% of APC charts quarterly, providing supervisory feedback within three business days, using HIPAA-compliant, encrypted methods
Job Requirements

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Valid state medical license

Skills and Abilities:

  • Licensed and credentialed in the state, with timely processing of paperwork
  • License has not been denied, suspended, revoked, or restricted
  • Meets all requirements to serve as a consulting physician under state law, including executing a collaborative agreement and maintaining records
  • Supervises no more APCs than permitted by law
