• Must meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act 2002-457

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements a program of instruction meeting individual needs and state/course requirements
• Plans and implements varied instructional strategies and activities
• Manages classroom behavior and collaborates with other school personnel
• Communicates instructional expectations and student progress to students and parents
• Continuously assesses student achievement and maintains documentation
• Participates in professional growth and curriculum planning
• Ensures a safe, attractive learning environment and confidentiality of student records
