Thriveworks in Alabama is seeking a Supervising Psychiatrist to oversee our board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners in a fully remote capacity. You will conduct quarterly QA, answer inquiries during business hours, and ensure compliance with state laws.

Responsibilities include chart reviews, supervision adjustments as needed, monthly documentation, policy adherence, and annual HR training. You must hold an AL license, be DEA registered, and have 3+ years of practice with 2+ years

Qualifications

• Active AL medical license and DEA registration required.
• 3+ years of practice experience (or 1+ year if board-certified or hospital-based).
• Minimum 2 years supervising residents or mid-levels.

• Review charts/progress notes per state laws and governing bodies.
• Complete monthly supervision documentation for each NP.

About The Job

Thriveworks is seeking a Supervising Psychiatrist to join our growing team of highly talented mental health professionals! The ideal candidate will share our commitment to quality healthcare and exceptional patient service.

In an effort to maintain safety and best practices for our clinicians and patients via telemedicine. We do not currently treat substance use disorders, and make every effort to refer out to an in-person provider when symptoms arise that are too severe to be treated via telemedicine only.

• Collaborators must have an active AL license and a DEA, and live in Alabama.

Compensation

• Once the NP starts seeing patients, compensation to the collaborating physician will be $800 per month, per NP

Key Responsibilities

• Work remotely to provide clinical supervision to our employed Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. Conduct quarterly QA with each NP. Availability via text/email to answer questions is required M-F during business hours, with a response within the same business day.
• Chart/Progress note review as required by state laws and governing bodies
• Provider may request additional supervision of the NP based on clinical need or complexity of NP practice
• Completion of a short 1-page Google Document after monthly supervision for each collaborating NP
• Stay knowledgeable of company policies and program guidelines
• Complete annual training as required by the HR department

Requirements

• MD/DO in Psychiatry
• Active and Unrestricted Licenses in AL, with preference for AL residents.
• Willing to travel to Thriveworks Alabama locations up to twice per year
• 3+ years of practice experience (or 1+ year if board-certified or hospital-based)
• A minimum of 2 years of experience supervising residents or mid-levels
• Must be willing to take a minimum of 4 NP’s
• No malpractice payout, licensure disciplinary action, or criminal/professional investigations in the last 5 years
• You must have a compact license or be willing to get one or be licensed in multiple states.
