This role is intended to support licensing, credentialing, and collaboration requirements under Tennessee law. The physician must live and practice physically in the state of Tennessee and be willing to participate in required collaboration activities in a timely, responsive, and partnership-oriented manner.
The collaborating physician will work with Icon Health’s Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners under Icon Health’s Practice Agreement, which defines the medical services APPs are authorized to perform based on their demonstrated competency, education, training, and experience. APP services may include patient care activities, signing appropriate forms, supervising medical assistants and care coordinators, and prescribing medications appropriate to the APP’s level of training, expertise, and applicable law.
The collaborating physician is not required to be physically present while APPs provide medical services; however, they must be available by telephone or other electronic means when APPs are providing services, consistent with Tennessee requirements and Icon Health’s collaboration guidelines.
