Job description

Join to apply for the COLE100: Business Development Team Lead role at JerseySTEM.

This is a pro-bono volunteer position.

JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.

The Business Development Team Lead provides leadership, direction, and planning to identify, reach out to, and engage with colleges and universities that could provide volunteer program instructors.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for recruiting college and university students as volunteer instructors.
  • Lead the College Engagement Business Development Team to identify and engage with colleges and universities of interest.
  • Build and foster relationships with key personnel at colleges and universities, including faculty members and administrators.
  • Coordinate and attend events at colleges and universities to promote the volunteer program and recruit potential instructors.
  • Track and report on the effectiveness of engagement strategies and adjust as needed.
  • Work with the Volunteer Program Director to align college engagement strategies with overall program goals.
  • Provide guidance, training, mentoring, and performance management to the team.
Mandatory Meetings
  • Weekly virtual team meetings on Sundays at 5 pm EST.
  • Monthly Department Heads Meetings (2nd Thursday at 7:30 pm).
  • Quarterly board Meetings (Last Wednesday at 7:30 pm).
Time Commitment
  • 3-6 hours weekly.
  • Minimum 6 months commitment.
Qualifications
  • Genuine interest in solving the STEM gender gap.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Resourceful with a can-do attitude.
  • Experience with universities and college campuses; outreach experience preferred.
  • Leadership experience managing teams or departments.
  • Comfort working in a virtual organization using digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, Salesforce).

Flexible schedule for daytime calls with school admins is a plus.
