Job summary

Anderson Erickson Dairy in Des Moines, IA, is seeking candidates for full-time, overnight production & distribution roles. We are willing to train you! Shift is 9pm to 5:30am, on-site with potential overtime; weekly paychecks and a full benefits package are offered.

Responsibilities include scanning inbound products, loading trailers, operating equipment, quality checks, and maintaining GMP/SQF standards. Must have CDL-A with Tanker Endorsement and Fork Truck Certification; must speak English;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• CDL-A with Tanker Endorsement and Fork Truck Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Scan and document all products entering the cooler.
• Move and load products into trailers for delivery.
• Operate equipment and crane when certified; assist in loading operations.
• Monitor quality and report issues; replace damaged items.
• Follow GMP/SQF, SOPs and safety practices; maintain a clean, safe area.
• Identify opportunities to improve production and logistics processes.
• Perform housekeeping and ensure compliance with safety rules.

Job description

We are willing to train you! We have outstanding opportunities in our production and distribution facilities in Des Moines, IA. Shift hours will be overnight shift 9pm to 5:30am. This is a full-time on-site role, with the ability to work additional overtime.

Job Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include (but are not limited to the following):

• Responsible for scanning and document all products coming into cooler.
• Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment (crane operation when certified).
• Loading products into trailers for delivery to various customers
• Picking of various customer products to be loaded into trailers
• Moving trailers back and forth between both plant and cooler
• Monitor product for quality control and report any issues to supervisor as needed
• Report any product/packaging issues.
• Replace any product that tips, spills, or is damaged during load out.
• Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
• Perform housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area. Complete zone cleaning for assigned area.
• Follow all required work-safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
• All other duties as assigned within job classification.

About the Role

• Experience with equipment operation, preferably in food manufacturing, but not required
• Understanding and adherence to quality control procedures
• Excellent communication skills to effectively work with team members
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve production line issues
• Good record-keeping skills to accurately document operations
• Experience with and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safe Food Quality (SQF) Standards
• Experience with and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is a plus
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in a refrigerated work area.
• Continual movement of empty and full cases and stacks, within the warehouse by using a hook. Individual cases will weigh 48 lbs., with full stacks weighing up to 288 lbs.
• Frequent lifting and lowering of cases to and from pick bays.
• Bending, squatting, and twisting of the body will occur while moving products regularly.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• You must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, lifting/ physical capacity test, and a background check. The reputation of our company is very important and we expect our employees to be the same.
• Must have a Commercial Driver's License Class A (CDL-A) with Tanker Endorsement.
• Fork Truck Certification required.
• Must be able to understand and communicate in English (Verbal, Reading, Writing) fluently.
