Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is hiring a Cold Header Setup Operator for the 1st shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM). You will set up and operate header machines, load raw materials, and produce finished parts in a quality-focused environment.

The role requires experience with progressive cold headers, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools, plus mechanical problem-solving abilities. This is a hands-on manufacturing position within a global tool leader.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience with progressive type cold headers.
• Experience with National headers preferred.
• Tow motor experience.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers and other gauges.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate progressive type cold headers.
• Change tooling for job setup, replace broken tooling and make adjustments as necessary.
• Retrieve tooling from the Tool & Die Department and return broken tooling for repair.
• Manually straighten steel coil, butt weld and grind end prior to loading into machine.
• Adjust machine settings as required.
• Read & interpret shop order to produce parts to blueprint specifications.
• Use appropriate gauges to check product and ensure that parts meet quality specifications.
• Enter production into kiosk and move product to next operation.
• Perform daily maintenance on machines.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Who You Are

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment requiring the employee to stand and walk for majority of an 8 to 10-hour day.
• Bend, lift product, equipment and tools up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Push or pull product up to 200 pounds.
• Use hand tools up to 20 pounds over extended periods of time.
