Job summary

Aerospace Fasteners in Brea, CA is seeking experienced Cold Header Setup Operators to join its fastener manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role requiring independent setup of cold heading and nut forming equipment, tooling adjustments, and on-time quality inspection.

You will work on multi-station equipment in a high-volume environment, troubleshoot issues, read blueprints, and document production steps.

Qualifications

• Previous cold heading/cold forming/nut forming experience.
• Experience performing complete machine setups independently.
• Experience setting dies, punches, and related tooling.

Cold Header Setup Operator

$35 - $45 per hour | Brea, CA | On-site | Permanent

Aerospace Fasteners | 1st & 2nd Shift | $35-$45/hr

A bit about us:

A major aerospace manufacturer is hiring experienced Cold Header Setup Operators to join its fastener manufacturing team.

This is a hands-on setup role for someone with experience in cold heading, cold forming, nut forming, or fastener production who can independently set up equipment, make tooling adjustments, troubleshoot production issues, and inspect parts to print.

You’ll be working in a high-volume precision manufacturing environment producing tight-tolerance fasteners used in aerospace applications.

Job Details

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform complete machine setups on cold heading / nut forming equipment
• Set and adjust dies, punches, transfer fingers, and related tooling
• Operate and monitor multi-station forming equipment
• Make machine and tooling adjustments throughout production
• Troubleshoot forming, tooling, and production issues
• Read blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications
• Inspect parts throughout production using micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, Go/No-Go gauges, and other precision measuring tools
• Maintain dimensional tolerances and identify quality issues before they impact production
• Communicate tooling and maintenance needs
• Complete production logs and required manufacturing documentation
• Follow plant safety and operating procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Previous cold heading, cold forming, nut forming, or fastener manufacturing experience
• Experience performing complete machine setups independently
• Experience setting dies, punches, and related forming tooling
• Ability to troubleshoot machine and tooling issuesExperience with multi-die / multi-station equipment
• Ability to read blueprints and work to tight tolerances
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and precision inspection equipment
• National or Jern Yao equipment experience highly preferred
• Experience with SACMA, Formax, Sakamura, Nakashimada, or similar cold forming equipment may also translate
• Aerospace fastener experience is a plus
• Experience forming materials such as stainless steel, alloy steel, aluminum, titanium, A286, or Inconel is a plus
