Job summary

Savage Systems has an opening for a Petroleum Coke Operator at the Total refinery in Port Arthur, TX. You will operate equipment to remove pet coke from coke drums, coordinate with crane operators, and ensure safe, efficient load-out to transport destinations.

Candidates should have basic high school education and crane/equipment experience; join a 24/7 rotating shift and contribute to site maintenance, safety, and documentation compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bridge Crane experience preferred.
• Heavy equipment operating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform proper decoking techniques by following procedures while monitoring hot spots and applying extra quenching as needed.
• Un-head and re-head coke drums, and perform the final sweep of the coke drum.
• Operate bridge crane to move coke from pad to grizzly hopper following procedures.
• Maintain open communication with Crane Operator, supervision, managers, and maintenance personnel via radio and other proper means.
• Assist maintenance personnel with equipment maintenance when additional manpower is needed.
• Inspect equipment before and after operation; report maintenance needs and conduct frequent audits on crane and other heavy equipment.
• Keep the workspace clean by removing trash and debris from all areas of responsibility.
• Complete required documentation (JHA's, permits, log entries, audit sheets, daily check sheets).
• Learn other positions as time permits.
• Adhere to Savage Systems (S7, SHAPS, 5S, Better Way).
