Job summary

Precoat Metals Corp in St. Louis is seeking a Production Worker to support plant operations across coating lines, slitting, shipping, receiving, and packaging. You may be assigned work in any area of the plant and will help maintain flow and safety.

The ideal candidate has a high school education, strong reading and writing skills, good teamwork, and the ability to operate basic hand tools and lifts. Shift work may include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules and SOPs.
• Strong communication with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to safely operate small manual and electric hand tools.
• Available to work up to 12 hours per day on rotating shifts (weekends/holidays possible).

Responsibilities

• Retrieves and transports bare coils and maintains flow of metal to lines by safely operating cranes, fork lifts, and upenders.
• Trims, packages and bands finished coils according to customer specifications.
• Inspects coils and identifies and reports defects.
• Reads and interprets production schedules.
• Identifies proper skid and packaging according to schedules.
• Records coil weights and order numbers accurately.
• Loads or unloads coils onto/off of trucks.
