Job summary

NORFOLK-IRON- is seeking production personnel in New Century, KS to build skids, operate equipment, and assist with shipping and material handling. The role requires compliance with safety protocols and the ability to pass a drug test and background check.

Two shifts available: 6:00am-2:30pm and 11:00am-7:30pm; benefits include PTO, medical and dental, 401k, and education assistance. Join a team focused on quality and efficiency in a growth-oriented facility.

Responsibilities

• Read/understand orders daily.
• Build wooden skids and package skids of metal for shipping.

• Load trucks and verify shipping paperwork in systems.
• Move materials between designated areas; participate in safety training.

Shifts - M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm & M-F 11:00am - 7:30pm

Here are some things you'll be doing:

• Reads/understands orders on a daily basis
• Builds wooden skids
• Safely operates radial saw and nail gun
• Builds and packages skids of flat rolled metal for shipping
• Operates forklift, man lift, and overhead crane according to procedure
• Assists in loading trucks
• Utilizes systems to complete paperwork verifying correct shipping
• Moves material to and from designated areas
• Participates in company training on Safety, Hazard Communication, blood borne pathogens, and accident reporting, among others
• Wears PPE equipment-steal toe boots, safety glasses, gloves and arm guards
• Assists other employees as needed
• Performs other duties
