Job summary

Taara is seeking a Coherent Optical Systems Intern to work on receiver synchronization for next‑gen wireless optical links. You’ll span the lab bench and simulations, evaluating lasers, modulators, and analog electronics, and building benchtop experiments to test concepts.

You will extend end-to-end link models and confirm predictions with measurements, with room to shape the design by proposing experiments and validating results in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in EE, Applied Physics, Optics, Communications or related field.
• Strong foundation in analog/RF electronics and how hardware limits shape loops and signal processing.
• Hands-on lab experience with lasers, modulators, and high-speed test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support receiver synchronization for next-generation WOC links.
• Design and analyze feedback loops for carrier phase and frequency tracking.
• Extend physical-layer simulation and validate it against measurements.
