Job summary

Mile 2 is seeking a Design / Research practitioner to design systems for human cognitive load, complex workflows, and decision-making. You will bridge complex tools with human workflows to help DoD clients adopt advanced data and software solutions.

We look for a background in cognitive systems engineering, user research, and experience interfacing with stakeholders. This role requires on-site work at Mile 2–Dayton, OH or Boston, MA with opportunities for growth and impact on defense projects.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. security clearance is required.
• Must work from Mile 2 headquarters in Dayton, OH or Wright Patterson AFB.
• 3–6 years of experience in cognitive systems engineering, human factors, UX research, or related roles.
• Strong foundation in cognitive systems engineering and modeling complex mental processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and research practitioner focused on human cognitive load, workflows, and decision-making.
• Analyze and optimize human-system interactions and usability for complex environments.
• Lead multi-disciplinary projects, providing technical oversight and reporting.
