Job summary

Vicinity Energy is hiring an Auxiliary Operator in Trenton, NJ. This full-time, hourly union position operates diesel engines, boilers, chillers, and related equipment under the guidance of the Operations Manager and Supervisor.

The role requires English communication, a high school diploma, and at least three years in cogeneration or district energy; a Black Seal Boiler Operator license or ability to obtain within six months is preferred. Union membership and safety training are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Black Seal Boiler Operator license or ability to obtain within six months.
• Three years of experience in cogeneration/district energy.
• Knowledge of boilers, reciprocating engines, refrigeration equipment, and fuel systems.

Responsibilities

• Interface with Control Room Operator and Operations Supervisor to ensure proper operation of plant systems.
• Operate and maintain diesel engines, boilers, chillers and related equipment in a two-person shift.
• Follow safety, environmental, and operations procedures; complete required training.
