Job summary

Glacier View Coffee in Covington, OH is seeking a shift supervisor/manager to oversee daily operations, supervise and develop Baristas, and deliver a welcoming, high‑quality customer experience. You will handle scheduling, hiring, training, inventory, vendor relations, and budgeting to protect margins while expanding the loyal local customer base.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role requiring early mornings, weekends, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience working in a coffee shop, café, or related industry.
• Proven management ability with strong organizational, time management, communication, and customer service skills.
• Availability for full-time, variable hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with overseeing scheduling, monitoring productivity, and providing feedback so Baristas deliver the best experience possible.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising Baristas.
• Assist with scheduling and quickly finding replacements when a team member is sick or absent.
• Assist with tracking and maintaining inventory so supplies are always available.
• Assist with coordinating vendor relationships and ordering.
• Assist with monitoring budgets to ensure profitability — actively looking for ways to lower operating costs while growing the customer base.
• Assist with menu planning.
• Assist with employment actions, including discipline and terminations, according to policy.
• Work directly with customers to answer questions, listen to complaints about food quality or service, and resolve issues promptly.
• Process payments and prepare bank deposits.
• Perform maintenance and light repairs on equipment.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming environment throughout the shop.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards — proper handling, storage, and hygiene per company policy and health department regulations.
• Ensure company standards are always upheld.
• Continue to build a loyal customer base that makes this coffee shop a local gathering place.

Glacier View Coffee | Covington, OH | Full-time, Non-exempt | $18.80–$20.00/hour DOE

A coffee shop is a business—inventory, margins, schedules, vendors, a POS that has to balance at the end of the night. All of that is real and this job owns a share of it. But the reason any of it matters is what happens on the other side of the counter. It’s the community of regular customers that makes it all worth it. A coffee shop earns its plan in a town one relationship at a time and it only works if someone is making sure it does. That’s the job. You’ll help run the operation and you’ll help to continue to build the loyal customer base that turned Glacier View Coffee into a gathering place. Both halves matter, and neither one works without the other.

You’ll be the person who makes the shift work

You’ll supervise and develop our Baristas—hiring them, training them, scheduling them, coaching them, and covering when someone calls out sick at 5:00 AM. You’ll answer the customer with a complaint and make it right. You’ll count the drawer, prepare the deposit, order what’s running low, and fix the grinder before anyone notices it was struggling.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience working in a coffee shop, café, or related industry

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Leadership, or a related field
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
• Food handler's license demonstrating awareness of food health and safety regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems
