What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

• Review medical records to code visits and procedures with high specificity and accuracy
• Provide education to physicians and healthcare staff on correct coding rules and documentation requirements
• Review insurance Explanation of Benefits and billing correspondence for denials, trends, and payment errors
• Meet productivity and coding accuracy goals as assigned by management
• Assist in training onboarding Coding Specialists and support denial and appeal specialists

What is Required (Qualifications):

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 year of professional coding experience required
• Must be a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes and medical terminology
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

• Associate Degree preferred
• 2 years of medical billing experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC software preferred
• Proven self-starter with the ability to motivate personnel
• Familiarity with virtual meeting applications (WebEx, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
