What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

  • Accurately code medical records for critical care and pulmonary procedures, applying ICD-10-CM, CPT, and relevant coding conventions
  • Review operative reports and physician documentation to ensure precise code assignment and maximize charge capture
  • Maintain compliance with coding standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal policies
  • Act as a liaison between clinical and billing teams, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of coded clinical data for reimbursement, statistical, and indexing purposes

What is Required (Qualifications):

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in production coding in a surgical setting or physician practice; outpatient professional fee revenue cycle experience preferred
  • Active CPC or CCS-P certification required
  • Demonstrated experience with Critical Care and Pulmonary coding
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and applicable coding standards and guidelines
