Job Summary

With a patient centered culture, the Coding Specialist will provide a positive experience to our customers and patients through assigning diagnostic codes, procedure codes and charge codes to patient accounts in an efficient and timely manner. The coder/abstractor monitors and tracks accounts that need additional documentation to ensure accurate coding of accounts according to official coding guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently and/or negligible amounts constantly.
One (1) year of previous coding experience OR a graduate of a medical billing & coding or medical office administration program required. Knowledge of patient billing practices, medical terminology including anatomy and physiology, and use of CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred. One year using CPT or ICD-10 code preferred.
