What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

  1. Perform CPT and ICD10 coding through abstraction of medical records for complex encounters
  2. Ensure accurate coding with a minimum of 95% accuracy according to Official Guidelines
  3. Provide documentation feedback to physicians and train staff on billing and coding
  4. Collaborate with Patient Accounting, PB Billing, and operational areas to resolve claim issues
  5. Maintain coding reference information and attend educational meetings

What is Required (Qualifications):

  1. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
  2. Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in a relevant role
  3. Minimum accuracy of 94% on the organization's coding test

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

  1. Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a Health Information Management program accredited by CAHIIM
  2. Previous experience with physician coding
