This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate coding for medical records and billing, contributing directly to our commitment to quality healthcare. The position is contract-1099 and works with medical staff and reimbursement department in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding of services performed by the providers in a multi-specialty clinic setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines related to medical coding.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.
• Assist in the management of medical billing processes and collections.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding practices, regulations, and technologies

Requirements

Education:

• CPC (Certified Professional Coder)

Licenses/Certifications:

• CPC or CCS certification required
• AAPC-CPC or AHIMA-CCS certification

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Applicant must be located in Louisiana
